The three-pickup ’57 Les Paul Custom is one of Gibson’s most iconic guitars. With a stunningly formal black, gold and pearl look, it features a carved solid mahogany body, a feature which sets it apart from other Les Paul models. This provides a slightly darker tone that balances well with the brightness of the solid ebony fingerboard. The traditional three-pickup wiring with independent volume knobs and a master tone knob, provides flexible tonal options. With Gibson Custom Shop’s usual standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail, this is a stunning recreation of the original “Black Beauty,” right down to the precise vintage inlay patterns. The addition of a gold-finish Bigsby vibrato tailpiece makes it echo one of the custom-order pieces that would have been available in 1957.
