Description
The Martin D-42 is a trusted blend of power and pearl, designed for players who seek bold tone and stunning visual details. Its Dreadnought body size delivers a loud, projective sound with strong bass, clear trebles, and rich overtones, making it perfect for both powerful strumming and intricate picking. Handcrafted with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-42 produces a resonant, balanced voice suited to all playing styles. The gloss genuine mahogany neck, featuring a Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval profile, high-performance taper, and 25.4" scale length, ensures smooth playability and precision. Adorned with intricate abalone details, the D-42 features snowflake inlays on the bound ebony fingerboard, a shimmering rosette, and pearl trim on the top that wraps elegantly around the fingerboard. Complete with antique white binding, an ebony bridge with bone pins, and gold open gear tuners, the D-42 is a guitar you can trust to unleash the artist within. 

Martin’s refreshed Standard Series for 2025 enhances tone, comfort, and style. Sitka spruce GE top bracing, as featured on the Modern Deluxe Series, delivers vintage-inspired tone and sustain, while updates like a reimagined neck profile, thinner fingerboard, and refined bridge and heel improve playability and aesthetics. Each guitar includes a hardshell case.
